Evolution, Cooperation and the Transition to Sustainability

Does good work, I agree with a lot of what he’s says…but, if the religious cannot agree to a naturalistic demarcation of the secular then the secular are better off going it alone.

Asteroid 2012 DA14 Won’t Kill Us (Yet), But Ought to Scare Us Into Action | Re-Envision | Big Think

Another reason, along with climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution that science and the natural world should have a revenue stream independent of the will of the people, property rights, corporate interests and political machinations.

I read that we may find the political will to curb co2 emissions at 550 ppm, a bit of bad luck really apparently that takes us into the disaster zone. Ah well, at least as we can thank democracy for our freedom to really fuck things up.

‘Freedom’ phht we’ve been building monuments for the rich since way before the pyramids and they keep telling us what good managers they are and how lucky we are to have the freedom to enjoy the privilege.

Strikes me that our only real choice is to stop playing by their rules and make some new ones.
